Espresso beans are coffee beans, referred to as "espresso" by the roaster. Whole beans are dark-roasted, requiring fine grinding in a home grinder. Robusta or Arabica beans are common, and espresso beans are roasted more, ground finer, and brewed in an espresso machine or aeropress. This applies to any coffee drink, including espresso.
